The HR Strategy team is part of CarMax’s world-class community of analysts who work in a collaborative environment and leverage a variety of strategic and technical skillsets to shape key decisions across the organization. The Senior Analyst of People Analytics will leverage strong data analytics and strategic problem-solving skills to inform major people decisions and initiatives impacting CarMax’s workforce of 30,000 associates and shape the future of a Fortune 500 retailer. The role involves advancing key HR initiatives by bringing a data-driven perspective to influence strategic decisions in Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Associate Experience, Compensation, and Benefits. Responsibilities include building transformational analytical tools such as datasets, predictive models, machine-learning algorithms, and reports to drive business performance; designing and analyzing operational and statistical experiments to evaluate and recommend key business changes; and synthesizing complex datasets into key insights and presenting value-creating ideas to leaders across the organization. Qualifications include a track record of excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, and quantitative/qualitative analysis; experience conducting large scale data analysis and proficiency in tools such as SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI; ability to apply business and technical knowledge to solve complex problems and communicate complex topics to diverse audiences; willingness to collaborate with a team of passionate analysts and business partners; two or more years of experience in an analytical or strategic role; and a four-year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance. The position is based in Richmond, VA, Dallas, TX, or Atlanta, GA with a hybrid work arrangement requiring in-office presence two days a week.
