1. Merger of Ajmer Merwara into Rajasthan

• The merger of Ajmer into Rajasthan took place on November 1, 1956.
• Initially, the Ajmer region and Mount Abu were kept separate, but the State Reorganization Commission recommended their inclusion in Rajasthan.
• There were disagreements between the All India States People’s Council and Congress leadership, but eventually, it was merged into Rajasthan.
• This process completed the formation of Rajasthan, which had begun in March 1948.

2. Contribution of Kota Praja Mandal in Quit India Movement

• On August 13, 1942, Pt. Abhinahariji was arrested as soon as he returned from Bombay.
• The Kota Praja Mandal gave an ultimatum to the Maharaja to sever ties with the British.
• Students played a crucial role in the movement. From August 14-16, 1942, students imprisoned the police and hoisted the national flag in Ramapura city.
• After about two weeks, the administration was handed back to the Maharaj, and the arrested leaders were released.

3. Mirabai’s Sagun Bhakti of Sweet Devotion

• Mirabai was a devotee of Krishna, a poet, and a singer, and one of the greatest saints of 16th-century India.
• She was born in 1498 and was married to Rana Bhojraj but became a widow at a young age.
• Mirabai dedicated her life to Krishna, believing Him as her husband, and her devotion was based on the emotional and sweet sentiment of love for Krishna.
• Her devotion emphasized love and union with Krishna over knowledge.
• She composed several devotional songs (Padawali), which remain popular today. Mirabai merged with her Krishna at the Ranchhor temple in 1547 AD.

4. Sangliya Dhuni, Sikar

• Sangliya Dhuni, situated in the Sangliya village of Dhod Tehsil, Sikar district, is the main center of the Sarvangi sect.
• The sect was founded by Lakkardas Maharaj in 1649 and believes in the equality of all humans, irrespective of caste.
• Followers are taught to avoid amulets and walk the righteous path.
• Satsang is held on the Amavasya and Purnima of every month, where spiritual hymns are sung.
• Baba Khinwadas College, established by the Ashram to promote education in rural areas, was honored by President K. R. Narayanan.
